Heading to Montreal this week to spend four glorious days at folk music band camp.
Looking forward to catching up with some of my favourite people, hearing an overwhelming amount of amazing music, drinking too many beers and sleeping too few hours in an overpacked hotel room.
And, I’ll be playing tunes too, to showcase #milesweputbehind. I’ve even wrangled @marielbuckley into adding some sweet sibling harmonies, which has been sounding 👌🏻 We’ve got a great crew of Alberta artists this year - this is gonna be fun! @jessknightsmusic @justinevandergriftmusic @emilyvtriggs @marielbuckley @lizstevensmusic @ameliepmusic @overthemoonmusic @shaelamiller @curtisglas @scottcooksongs @brysonwaind @jenny.allen.902 @bowvalleymusic

Thanks to @acma_music and @alberta_music for having me at the Alberta Country Music Awards. After spending the evening with a room full of musicians and industry professionals, I was reflecting on how the folk and country industries don’t seem to intersect much. It was nice to have the opportunity to meet so many nice people and great talent. #acma2018 #acma #acmawards #abmusic
You don’t often see me on stage without my guitar... but about a year ago, I stepped into the studio at the @banffcentre to record some demos with producer/engineer Howard Bilerman. He listened to this song, paused, then said “Let’s record this without your guitar, but with organ and a drum machine.” I was skeptical to say the least, but I went with it. This new approach ended up being a big reason why I decided to fly out to Montreal to work with Howard on the full album.
This tune has become one of those songs that people tell me is their favourite. And you’ll be seeing a full music video for “Least a Man Could Do” soon!
In the meantime, here is an excerpt of a live version of this song... without a guitar. #tbuckley #newmusicmonday #folk #singersongwriter #milesweputbehind
